MINT CHIP ROAD TRIP

That's the name of my new pillow. I love it, it's really cute, and i got it from a head full of pixies. The little button is fun too, the only problem is that Juniper's favorite game is pulling buttons off of things. She went for it yesterday on this pillow, and already succeeded with a chair button.

A PICKER UPPER

My mood hasn't been the highest this week. I was starting to freak out about my apartment and how i need to clean and re-arrange. I was feeling unsettled and unsatisfied with how everything was set up. Basically I was being a freak.

To make myself feel better, I took some pics of things in my apartment that I like looking at. And it did make me feel better, these pics make me happy and inspired.

WINNING THE AIRPORT LOTTERY

Brian and I took a trip to Chicago this past weekend to visit family of mine. Our flight was leaving Saturday afternoon from Logan. So we're there, waiting around and then I hear an announcement about the flight being oversold and give-aways. And what were the give-aways you ask; one of two choices for each passenger keep in mind. One free night in a hotel plus one free roundtrip voucher for anywhere in the US or 2 free roundtrip vouchers for anywhere in the US. what was the catch? well leaving the next day with a shorter layover and flying first class for both flights! so did we take it, hell yes we did.

and what did we get? well both of the give-aways considering we are two people. so we walked away with three free roundtrip vouchers to anywhere in the US, a night in a Boston hotel, plus vouchers for dinner and breakfast at the hotel, a shuttle to and from the hotel, plus to and from the T so we can hang out downtown for the night, and we flew first class. So in my mind, we WON THE AIRPORT LOTTERY. pretty awesome. And we saw Apples in Stereo at the Paradise Saturday night. I love unexpected changes. And we did end up in Chicago by the end of it all, and got back late last night.

ALL ABOUT ARTISTS

So, there's this blog called, dear ada, that is all about artists. It's pretty fantastic. The blogger just posts about different artists from all around the world (i believe)–shows their work, and says a brief statement about them. It's such a great way to discover new art. And a great way to possibly sell your work. I found a ton of art that I most likely never would have discovered on my own, I'm of course mostly drawn to the paintings.

TILE ART

I'm really into these tiles by artist, Jasna Sokolovic, discovered at the poppytalk blog. They are ceramic blocks that she stamps, silkscreens, scrapes away at, and then paints on top of. I love the layering affect, and the faded patterning.

Okay, I love these scarves and cuffs that the modish blog introduced me to made by Alyson Fox. The scarves are wool, with various vintage materials and buttons. They are so unique and awesome. And the fashion photography is also pretty great (i just cropped em down a bit, so they're better seen on her site)
